Lovely painting Seok - I really like the soft contrast of the out of focus blooms against the beautifully painted In focus flowers. Watercolour lends instead so well to studies like this.

I love orchids, my window sill is full of them but I rarely manage to paint one successfully. I like the different greens in the leaves, your understated background and especially the vibrant blooms with the softer focus ones behind. Beautiful.

This is a most beautiful painting of a marvellous orchid Seok. I love the background, the delicate flowers and most of all the fantastic leaves, full of light and mysterious shadows at the same time. Stunning!

That time of the year again, when outdoor painting is no longer possible, thanks to all the haze enveloping our island, the result of the inane Indonesians burning down their forests yet again. The pot of wild orchid in our garden had impeccable timing - the first spray of stunning flowers in three years. Just the thing for painting in the studio.
