Another beautiful watercolour Seok, beautifully balanced composition. Thank you for your advice on my oil painting. You were absolutely right - I am still working on it and will post it when it is finished.

A stunning flower, beautifully painted

Lovely work Seok. I couldnt do that to save my life

very beautiful watercolour Seok bravo!

I love the way you do these delicate and beautiful flower paintings and just have them sitting in the white paper. This, to me, highlights the quality of your work and makes the viewer concentrate on all the subtle colours and tones without the distraction of a background. I particularly like what you have done at the base of the plant. Super work.

Love this one too.

they are lovely flowers and you have certainly done them justice

Cannot add much more to what has already been said. Except to say it is a lovely painting and thankyou for taking the time to answer my question on the Scroungers.

Thea said all, Seok Yam... this is very high quality work. I love the way you added the beautiful little flower bed, it accentuate the very soft ,gentle and elegant feeling...very well done.

You have captured these bird of paradise very well.

One of my favourite flowers, don't think I have attempted these. Wonderful painting.

Just beautiful

So Exotic! Beautifully done!

Just beautiful. Love the arrangement. They look almost like birds

A beautiful painting of a beautiful flower, one I have always wanted to paint but never have. I love the touch of negative painting at the base of the flowers.

I've just been studying it 'large', and you've painted it so well that you can see why they're called Bird of Paradise flowers, they are just like beautiful colourful birds, I too, like the simple touches at the base giving it a foundation. flowers are works of art in their own right and its hard to do them justice, but you have certainly succeeded here, did it take you long to do?

Thank you so much, everyone! Thea, I now try to work on white backgrounds for a very simple reason - I've discovered it means I don't have to worry about messing up the painting with a lousy background! And just to let you, Val and Peri into my secret about the flowers at the base - that was an effort at salvage, because I didn't know how to loosen the base of the Strelitzia, so they looked funny without something to cover them! Peri, it took me three days to complete this one. The flowers were pretty quick, but as usual I struggled with my dreaded green leaves.

Being away on holiday for more than 2 weeks, I missed all those wonderful works, Seok! This is a wonderful, marvellous watercolour. I love the absence of a background: it accentuates the beautiful shape of the flowers!

Thank you very much, Mia!

very well done... and thanks for your comments on my gallery

I haven't been able to keep up with POL for quite a while so have missed quite a lot of your paintings. I have to comment on this one because I've been to the Coronado Hotel and collected sand dollars on the beach while being buzzed by the airforce LOL These flowers are one of my strongest memories of the place; so vibrant and you have really done them justice.

Thanks very much, Diana! I've been away on a course for a while too, so I am also only now catching up on the postings. Coronado is one of my favorite places to stop when I visit my brother who lives near there. These flowers were everywhere around the hotel and I just couldn't resist taking a few photos of them!

Lovely Seok. You have really beautiful artwork in your portfolio. It is a joy to look at.

Thanks very much, Rebecca and Jennifer!
