In the fifty years since Singapore's independence, our nation has been transformed beyond recognition. This year, as we celebrate our 50th anniversary, I was struck by how far we've come. As a nation constantly undergoing change, our skyline has been transformed many times over. A few months ago, I took a boat ride out to our bay area with some friends visiting from America, and I saw our present skyline at night for the first time. The view was simply stunning. With every skyscraper and low building scintillating with lights, the skyline was like an amazing glittering jewel. This monoprint is my attempt to capture our beautiful skyline at sunset, but it's virtually impossible to do justice to an amazing scene.
