Oh - so very well done, Satu! It is a brilliant one liner and shows that linearism is here to stay! Many congratulations.

I agree with Marjorie but jolly well done Satu, it's a classic.

Thank you all so very much for your support and kindness, it means a lot.

Are we surprised Satu, of course not, it's brilliant!

So lovely for you Satu well deserved

Well done Satu!!

Well done! Was Art on the Street worthwhile? I was considering being part of it on a later occaision.

Surely this one liner deserves to be in the top gallery? They never seem to get chosen, but this one is now special and deserves a place up there.

Well deserved Satu! Good for you.

Absolutely agree with Thea's comment. I'd like to see this one in the top gallery. Serious stuff now that it won the prize and it's one of those joyful type of paintings that I never tire of looking at. Topical as well!

Congratulations Satu! Well deserved :)

It has it all Satu - the posture, the wave, the handbag and the sense of fun. I am so glad you have been rewarded but one liners are not second best !

Thank you again all for your lovely comments! I was so surprised when they announced the results, I would never have believed it. The competition was well organised and the judges were touring with a lookalike Queen in pink ( a real person) to see every entry and to take notes. When the results were announced I had to go to a podium where the " Queen" gave me a certificate, the badge and the price money. People were cheering and clapping and photos were taken. Wonderful moment!

Art on the Street is a twice a year venue where about one hundred, mainly local artists have an opportunity to show their work. Now on it's seventh year it's going really well and is bringing thousands of people in town. To get a pitch you have to queue on a certain Saturday morning three months before. The first people arrive at 6am and they open the door at 9.30. I'm always amongst the first to make sure that I get a place. All this has been made possible by the wonderful staff of our local art shop Bowille&Wright.

Smashing Satu and now I know who it is LOL! Well done mate.

Congratulations, well done.

Thank you Derek and Fred.

Being nosy, what won?? I like these linearist things.

Funnily enough I didn't even see the winning work. It was a group effort so probably quite big. I was so surprised that I forgot about anything else. It will be in the newspaper later this week.

All the glory finally to one liners!! My yesterday's little effort won the second price in a competition to celebrate the Queen's birthday. It was part of the Art on the Street venue in Maidenhead. I entered just for the fun of it and the judges really liked it. So there we are, long live the Queen and the one liners!
