I can see what you mean Satu, love your colours in this bleak industrial wasteland, scenes just like this, or the verge of being just like this are everywhere now as well, as businesses fail including ones that were supposed to start buildings new developments on areas of wasteland, thanks for your super comment on my pastel portrait of David Frost

I think this is great - it's got balance and evokes thought. Great style too

Doranne has put it perfectly. And it grows on you.

I look at it more as an abstract - and it works so well. Love the composition.

Will have to think about this one........ thought at first it was headstones in a cemetery but maybe the dying docklands aren't so different ?

Thank you Ros, Doranne, Sian, Michael and Avril for your comments! I know that it's not an easy one to say anything about so much appreciated.

It works for me. I like the colours and the composition is super.

I like this, love the brush marks, attractive colours too.

Definitely viewing this as an abstract and, as such, it really catches your eye and makes you wonder what is going on in it. Very powerful image and I can see why you like the grey crates (although I am not seeing them as that). Loads of interest in the colours and textures.

Not at all silly, Satu, and I think you stopped at just the right time. It's just super- great textures, palette and shapes!

Dawn, Carole, Thea, Seok and Gudrun... Thank you very much for your kind comments!

Wonderful colour and an interesting scene.

I wish I could produce a painting that makes the viewer think about what he/she is looking at. I see strength in the grey blocks and peace in the surrounding landscape.....abstract at it's best Satu.

Thank you Lesley and Fiona for your kind comments!

You have such a great sense of form and colour Satu

Hi Satu, thanks so much for your fabulous comment on my 'toddler' pastel portrait, delighted you like it so much, you won't have had chance to notice my latest posting which for the frost time it over 2 years is not a Pastel work, it is Museum Aquarelle pencil work of a little boy at the beach enjoying a sunny day which could not be more different to the pouring rain we have had here all day! Do check it out Satu, as far as I know it is still on the front page! And thanks again x

I painted this some months ago and after having put those gray crates in I just couldn't continue any more. They might look silly but somehow I like it as it is.
