Your ‘new’ method has worked very well Sarah, and I really like the Cornish ware.

It's really stunning Sarah and a great example of direct painting

It’s a lovely painting, the colours are lovely.

Wonder Sarah and it has worked well.

Love the jug and the impasto work on the flowers Sarah.

Pretty pastel colours in your lovely Cornish jug!

Best way to work in my book, this is really good Sarah!

Love this Sarah - so subtle and it works so well-

Lovely colours, beautiful!

This is charming!

Very lovely, Sarah.

A perfect posey Sarah and lovely pastel colours. Love this approach, don’t think I could manage without a drawing

Thanks for all the comments. I've got to say it wasn't an easy exercise, but very rewarding. I started at the focal point and worked outwards.

It’s a great painting Sarah.

Forget the "drawing first." Your brush strokes and values are your drawing and you did those beautifully. This is an enlivening and beautiful painting.

Last of my mothers day flowers in a Cornish jug. Oil on board 12x12in. I created this in about 6hrs. I used a direct painting method, where you put colour down straight away without any drawing.
