Very nice drawing and shading Ruth. A lovely pose

Ruth your pencil drawings are absolutely lovely. This is quite charming and demonstrates what patience you must have.

Sensitive and I bet the owner loves it.

Thank you all for your very kind comments.

Spotted this earlier but didn't have time to comment then so I've just searched it out. This is a lovely pencil drawing, excellent shading emphasising the folds in the ears and defining the face. If I could just make one suggestion, maybe just a little more "catchlight" in the eye would really bring it alive. This is just my opinion and as I'm no where near as good as you with a pencil please feel free to ignore my ramblings and use your eraser on me !

Thank you, Val, and I won't ignore your helpful ramblings - I appreciate any comments you make too much for that... I did the drawing on a fairly small scale, and you're spot on, a light in the eye would bring the expression to life more, so I'll cut a fine sliver from my eraser and have a go.

Love this sketch Ruth. Thanks for your comments on 'Kitty', yes I do use Faber Castell Pitt Pencils, I find them ideal for my detailed work. Fairly new to pastel but am enjoying the experience. Have used mostly Gouache and pencil sketching. Robin

This was done with HB lead on cartridge. Approx 10x10" The dog belonged to someone I met at the petfood store. His coat was so richly red that I hesitated to use paint as I doubted whether I could do it justice. I haven't drawn a dog for years, and enjoyed doing this immensely.
