I think some of the birds are improved, but in practising as advised, I found that the best way was to use a nib pen and paint...it gives you better control in a small space that way. Be glad to know what you think, though if you have the inclination. Ta.

A definate inprovement on swift shapes.... but where is the golden light?

Yes I did like your beautiful colours on the first one,but the birds have a much lighter natural feel about them here Ruth.

Love the sense of birds decending, great movement

Thank you, Sylvia, Carole and Lesley. I think the golden light went out of the window with the swifts' tails, Sylvia, unless it's the camera hiccupping! (never know how to spell that...hiccough never looks right.

Actually, I think it was the sponge I had to use...lost a lot of the midges as well.

There's a real sense of movement in this painting Ruth. Well done.

As you Ruth, I liked the original anyway. The birds in this are definitely more swift like and the movement and sense of joy of seeing the birds was in the first, and this one.

Second attempt to improve swifts...washing out has left their tails as little clumps of feathers, though!
