You have captured the flow and transparency of the water beautifully Ruth. I love how you've used just a small section of the stream so effectively.

Thank you Christine, for looking. I wasn't too sure about the transparency of the water in particular. I do like working on small elements of a scene, it seems easier to draw it together.

The water is lively and the foreground water being more lighter in colour makes it look choppy and interesting. A very nice composition too :)

Thank you for looking, Sarah.

Agree with the above comments Ruth. I like it.

This is a lovely painting Ruth, I especially love the bottom left hand corner; the water, rocks and foliage are fab!

Thank you so much for looking, Pat and Fiona, it's much appreciated.

looks fine to me Ruth, nice zig-zag composition, enough weight on the three flora elements to balance the movement of water through the pic. Stopped at the right point for me, doesn't need any fiddling. best Mick

very competent work. Ticks all the right boxes.

Found you Ruth...love the very Welsh wet colours in this. We both know them well. I have problems with water , made a complete mess on an outing to Penmachno the other day. I think this has gone well.

Thank you Mick, Linda and Sylvia.

Lovely greenery colour and the water looks good Ruth. Oh and the rocks are great.

Have just revived an interest in acrylic. This is a local 'stream' which flows into the River Ceiriog beside the building which was once used as a mill. The water wheel is gone, sadly. It is a very lovely part of the Ceiriog Valley where I live, and I often stand looking over the bridge into this body of water. In full spate it is most impressive, and the surrounding foliage very paintable. I have difficulty with painting water though. I think there is more work to be done on this, and that is one of the things I enjoy about using acrylics, apart of course from the covering power which they have, youcan go back to your work again and again. Would much appreciate comments
