Thank you all for your comments, it's very kind of everybody. I so much enjoyed painting Beck, and am planning to give the picture to my sister on her 80th next month.

This arouses all of my protective instincts; granted, I'm daft about dogs, but she really is so lovely ... was this the same dog that was tipped out of a car onto the motorway? Unbelievable; the thought makes me want to flog the persons responsible.....

Yes, Robert, the same dog. As you probably know, homeless dogs haven't just wandered off, they have been callously thrown out as surplus to requirements, often in freezing weather, into dangerous situations, and in poor health. All done deliberately with malice aforethought......Some never recover their nervous health, and become quivering wrecks.
