I think this is a case of needing to see the original painting to realise how brilliant this really is. The texture you have managed to create with the clingfilm is amazing and certainly gives the impression of being under water. The colours are much more muted on the original which to my mind adds to the mystical feel of the work. You really are extremely versatile and not afraid to try new techniques. Well done Ruth - you get better and better!

Yes, you're never afraid to have a crack at something new and different (as we've noticed before) - well done. I've never dived, I'm afraid, but donkey's years ago I did a series of drawings of sharks, deep sea fish, etc - and I've lost the lot. No idea what happened to them, but maybe they've gained in the memory a quality they didn't have in the original. Anyway - this reminded me of them.

Love your textured background Ruth, a good painting.

Very interesting results and technique, so much more detail can be seen when looking at the enlarged version. Love the colours you have used.

I took lesleys advice and looked at the larger view, now I wish we could zoom in to the wonderfull textures in your paintings, clingfilm you say , plus a large dollop of skill I say. now where does my wife keep the clingfilm!

Ruth - what a lovely colourful and varied gallery. Very original ideas. It's alway amazing the different results which can be achieved. Well done. This one is special
