Good twists and turns in their bodies and a lvoely background colour. I find Ateleier awfully sticky. Is that what you meant? Spraying it does help make it more workable.

Lovely vibrant piece full of movement. As a scuba diver I shall look much more closely at the weed the next time I'm down :)

Thanks Diana. Sticky, yes, and I didn't find the blending too easy. I did the background wet in wet, which moves the pigment well, but as for misting the paint on the canvas, I think I need more practice at, because I find it tends to dilute too much and then it runs.....but I think I could get better at the misting....you need to lean well back from your work to spray, I find..

Thanks Lesley. I think authentic weed is much more exotic, isn't it? I'll come down with you!!! This was a bit of fantasy....more like the broad reeds in a pond...not really suited to Scuba diving! I bet it's a wonderful experience !

Ruth you have amazed me ! first time at acrylic and the picture works ! I do love the composition, the colours, the lot.! Carry on you are on a winner.

This looks really good Ruth! The light coming through is wonderful and there is so much movement in it. Well done. I like your new portfolio name also - obviously we are going to see more of this type of work?? Great! Don't get too abstracty or I won't understand what is going on!

Thank you so muchly, Beatrice and Julia. I find it an exciting medium, Beatrice, and a lot easier on my eyes. Won't get too 'abstracty', Julia.....unless the spirit moves me!....Don't try to analyse, just enjoy the visual aspect, shape and form and feeling etc, if I do.....which I might..... (I won't ask you to put it on your wall though....I promise!)

Almost a celtic design wih the weaving grasses, I like this.

Hello Ruth, what an unusual picture, I love the way you have blended the background colours. Many thanks for your kind words about my flower painting.

Well, I am very impressed with this Ruth especially as you were just playing around! I love the way you have managed to achieve a transparent look to this painting. Very well done indeed. PS thank you for your kind comments on my work. X

This is a wonderful painting Ruth so imaginative and especially as it's your first with acrylics

I like what I see here...dip your clean brush into 'Acrylic Flow improver' then put the brush into your water pot...now blot it and paint...drag the brush towards you...agree with the comments above...

This has a really nice colour balance and works really well and i bet looks really good framed...... i bought my standard colour palette and all the mediums in the atelier interactives range...alas it was my biggest art materials blunder, i dont like them at all and they are now pushed to the bottom of a drawer.... i have seen some painting done with them that are stunning but i guess they just don't suit me personally.

I like this one Ruth, Colours & detail are great.

I love this. Very interesting gallery!

Lov the colours and movement the twist and turns brings... amazing gallery

Hi Ruth, Thank you for your recent comment on my painting. I have been looking through your gallery and like your work very much but this picture appeals to me in particular I love the intricate weaving of reeds and snakes.

Playing with my Atelier acrylics, seeing what they do etc, but using watercolour for finer areas as I find the acrylic rather too stiff to work without adding some water, which dilutes it, so have ordered a liquifying medium to try for finer areas. Ok using in a thick impasto style, Basically having fun! Any comments more than welcome, whatever you think, please.
