Painted from my own photo. Very challenging to capture this young barn owl’s startled expression. I took the photo on a photography course, the owl was reluctant and had to be coaxed into the hole with a mouse. Post mouse he went into a dream like state, closing his eyes. Fortunately my photograph was an open eyed moment.
