Piccadilly Circus, Eros and the NFL. Original oil painting on wooden panel by 40.2 cm x 50.5 cm. This is a scene of people milling about in Piccadilly Circus and the statue of Eros on a typical overcast day in London. The challenge here was to produce a work from a reference photograph that I had taken while last down in London which showed a very dull and bland, typical late winters day, lacking strong features or characteristics and to invest it with interest. As ever there were throngs of people there, tourists taking in the scene. I have removed a number of people that were in the original image to draw the eye to the couple in the foreground so that the activity sweeps around Eros, bringing the eye from left to right. http://www.rogerturnerart.com/Piccadilly_Circus
