16" x 20" oil on board from a plein air pastel, North Uist, May 2022. This was inspired by Alan Bickley's article in the July issue of The Artist. I have long been an admirer of Edward Seago's work. At first, I was going to paint a Seago-style sky and a typical East Anglian landscape but I felt that it would seem like a copy. The pastel from the Vallay Strand had a lot of sky and I'd reacted with my pastel strokes to the conditions on a windy Sunday. So this is the result.
