Yellow Flowers, North Uist

All that wonderful space! Do you know what the flowers are Roger, beautifully portrayed.

Thanks, Fiona. The actual flowers are like big buttercups, I think, but the plants are taller. The machair is stunningly beautiful. My favourite part of the painting is the sun on the sandy track. Since I took the photo, I've made the distant houses slightly lower.

Excellent Roger, it’s never easy to paint such a vast space convincingly, but you have!

Hang on Studio Wall

16" x 20" oil on canvas. I was going to replace the image now that I have added a few marks to suggest human, animal and bird movement. I think I can only change my description or else remove the earlier version altogether.
