I haven't come across anyone who does plein air pastels, Roger - very interesting, and you've shown that pastel is a successful medium for plein air paintings... this is a great painting.

Thank you, Jan. I carry quite a lot of materials: one of those plastic cases meant for DIY a board and a choice of coloured papers, but I've done my best ever plein air work in pastel. They keep my work loose and you just CAN'T fiddle very much.
