16" x 20" oil on canvas painted from a plein air watercolour painting. I've painted several versions of this view. This one was done last autumn after I'd been to the Scottish Colourists exhibition in Berwick upon Tweed. I love Cadell's paintings of the Iona beaches. This time I created a gap in the rocks which isn't there in the on-the-spot watercolour to allow the eye through to the far distance.
