I often wonder why on earth I'm living in England...... This is an excellent painting, using fat, juicy oil paint in relatively simple blocks of colour that give a clean and fresh effect. Did you take your oils to NZ, or have to buy them there?

Thank you so much for these lovely comments. I took my paints and some boards with me to NZ, but had to buy turpentine there, as it's not allowed on aeroplanes.

13 March 2014. Painted this picture at Tairua in the morning before checking out of my hotel. It was a lovely sunny morning with very few people about and I began to wonder why on earth I was living in England. I loved the large areas of tone and the way they all fitted together with the distant boats.
