I love the pastel shades in this one Rod , It reminds me a bit of james Horton he sometimes does some like this and id say this is certainly on a par with his work . Very nice .

The colours are superb - you caught that that hazy heat of Provence Rod

View towards Bonnieux, Provence. 4 September 2014. In the morning I painted a contra jour view towards Bonnieux. I loved this old cherry tree, which was very much on its last legs….but it was still first in the queue with autumn leaves! Bonnieux in the background looked distinctly blue, so I took Gauguin’s advice and painted it as blue as I dared! I think it seems to work, but others must decide. I don’t normally do contra jour paintings - but I’m being slowly converted. I painted it close to a quiet road and most people passing were cyclists. I can’t for the life of me understand why people cycle in Provence - its so hot and hilly!!
