Lovely painting Rob,

Brilliant perspective and nicely done Rob. Excellent work.

Smashing painting, Rob love the aged bridge and the skilled treatment of the water.

You met the atmosphere of West Canada on the spot. Clear, wide, quiet. It is more than 20 years ago I was there, but your painting brings back the feeling instantly.

Thank you everyone! I enjoyed doing this. I sent away for the literature on emigration to Canada at the grand age of 7, because I loved this kind of scenery; I always have. So this was a labour of love in every respect, and Holger I'm very glad to hear that it has given a good reflection of the place! It's ironic that somewhere I've always been so keen on is one of the few places I've never been - I need to get out there!

I painted this large (75 x 50cm) image as a gift for my daughter and son-in-law, who recently honeymooned in Alberta, Canada. This was a favourite view of theirs. I've always loved Canada, although I've never been this far west (it features high on my bucket list!) and I wanted the painting to speak of clear air, clear water and purity. With no particular focal point, I've tried to give the viewer something of interest everywhere!
