It's really interesting to see that Robert. It looks very like a conventional pen and ink sketch where as the iPad paintings are unmistakably digital. I am experimenting with other apps on my iPad but am finding them difficult to master compared with Brushes which I use mostly. I'm sure the technology will progress even further - the mind boggles!

I like it, Robert - an inspired piece, well done, with an air of immediacy to it. I thought it was a conventional pen and ink sketch too, until I read your commentary.

I think it is great. Very free and yes I also thought it was a conventional P & I.

I'd hoped that it was a conventional pen and ink.... :)

Here's another one who thought it was a pen and ink sketch. Impressive that you did this using the older technology Robert, and however the image was achieved, it has a real charm.

I like this very much Robert, however it came about. Yes it has a mechanical look to it because of the old version of microsoft paint, not as versatile as the new ipad gadgets, but I think that adds to the appeal of your painting. I would never have thought about doing this. Like it!

I love it Robert and knowing that you are not so keen on modern or abstract paintings, I love it even more!!!

Excellent stuff Robert. I'm trying the same thing with Photoshop, I think I wil have to get one of those tablet things with a stylus as I have a mouse with a mind of its own It sudenly shoots off and does its own thing. best Mick.

Robert, I'm a she! Of course you couldn't know but just for information Satu is a Finnish name and means a fairy tale. When my granddaughter wants me to read a story she would ask for a satu. x

I like this sketch very much , Robert. I have recently done a complete sketch using "Paint" also and found it interesting but time consuming and using the colours as well, I used a Trust tablet and a pen stylus which replaces the mouse and gives tighter control . The answer to your query about my recent photo of the rower can be found in my gallery of photo art.

Hi Robert, love your sketch and your paintings. Just wondered also if you've tried the app 'Procreate' on your iPad? I enjoy using it a lot and find it better than 'Brushes'. BW, Shirley May.

Purely for interest's sake - inspired by the Ipad and other digital art on here, this is a study done in Microsoft Paint, which I used as the basis for a large painting, since sold. You can see how primitive the technology is (provided it uploads, that is...) by comparison with the software available today.
