Lovely, the petals actually look velvety. I can almost feel them. Super light on the leaves too. May I ask what reds you used? You have a lovely gallery here.

Hi Diana, Thanks for your kind comments. I used 6 colours for this painting: for the flower - crimson, ultramiarine, white and my own mix of neutral dark (50/50 ultramarine + raw umber). I used 70/30 sap green/raw sienna as the base colour for the leaves, with neutral dark for the shadows and white for the highlights .
