I like the splashy effect too. I don't think you've used too much black, didn't occur to me (and I never use black) - I think it's working well tonally.

I like this one a lot Sarah and not too much black at all! I use black all the time in my acrylics because the intense blackness of it makes a good contrast and gives the paintings some backbone. ( Hope that you understand what I mean).
