This is really lovely Val your soft colours work well on his feathers. Didn't know you get Ampersand for anything other than pastels.

Thank you Seok, Maureen, Dennis, Margaret, Carole and Dennis for your kind remarks. Carole, they do boards for oil as well. With the watercolour I felt is was like painting on plaster and the washes sank in quite quickly but the lifting out was much easier than with watercolour paper.

This was an experiment, my first watercolour on Ampersand Aqua Bord. I found it difficult to control the washes but that might come with more practice but it's great for any watercolourist who uses the tecnique of lifting out. I'd certainly give them another go. I've got a pastel version of Ampersand to try too when I find some inspiration :) thanks for looking
