A lovely painting Val and such an interesting story too. What a wonderful renovation project it would make! I think your painting is perfect as it is and doesn't need to be tweaked.

A wonderful portrayal of something that would have such stories if only it could talk... I agree with Christine and think it's lovely just as it is.

What an interesting subject! How lovely to find something old like this just hanging around - quite rare I would have thought. I love the look you have achieved as I really sense the 'oldness' of the caravan surrounded by really well painted grass and trees. Nice work, Val.

Fantastic Val, lots of character......its got that 'shabby chic' look.

Great image Val, with some great stories behind it - if only walls could talk eh??

Lovely painting, lovely colours - well painted Val

Lovely painting and composition Val, nice and unusual subject

Thanks everyone for your complimentary comments, but I must admit I have "tweaked" it a bit since posting but I have put it away now to stop me fiddling any more.

If you manage to get to Lochinver, make sure you take the coast road north to Stoer, Clashnessie, Drumbeg. You won't be disappointed, don't forget your paints, or your camera!

Ooo Val, I'd love to get my hands on this wonderful caravan, what a marvellous subject beautifully depicted :)

A wonderful subject Val. Very appealing.

Thsi is a really intertesting and unusual subject you have painted Val, I really like the colours and the whole painting- well done for finding this subject and painting it so very well.

Love this Val - the distressed look adds so much character to the caravan. I think it's lovely as is.

Love it, Val, Don't you dare do a thing more to it!!! I could tell you a story about a caravan (which happened to be an abandoned gipsy van) of many years ago, which my big sis and I took over, falling in love with....but I could go on and there really isn't space here. But you have made my day! BlessX

Many thanks Lesley, Carole, Graham, Seok and Ruth. Ruth I'm flattered it brought back memories and made your day, thank you.

Lovely, great choice of subject and colours

Pastel on colourfix approx 50/35cm An old, unloved travellers caravan abandoned in a wood not too far from where I live. My daughter found it on one of her walks and has fallen in love with it. It still has the old black range inside it and the remants of some beautiful stained glass panels. It must have been a beauty in its day. Now I've seen it on screen I can see it need "tweaking" a bit, maybe tone down that turquoise in the foreground??. C and C very welcome.
