WOW!! Val I recognised it right away....you've done an absolutely stunning job of it! The clouds are fantastic and the dark shadows of the clouds on the water are especially good.

Love the clouds and the water - Stunning work!

A beautiful painting Val, love the ripples on the water and the 'threatening' sky. Fantastic!

Lovely athmospheric painting Val

Thank you ladies for your very kind comments. Fiona I'm glad you recognised it. Brora harbour next when I have some time to myself :)

Wow! That's a brave and stunning sky!! The water is superb and the whole painting shouts class and confidence. Well done indeed, Val, for this outstanding work.

Val, those low clouds look so familiar, they gather down here as well! (quite frequently) I love the patch of blue in the sky and those wonderful reflections in the water. A beautiful pastel painting, was this one in your exhibition or is it new?

Beautifully done, Val! Stormy yet tranquil, with a lovely palette.

Wonderful work Val, love the reflections!

Thank you Thea, Carole,Seok and Debs for your kind comments. Carole, it was painted with the exhibition in mind but then I had the go ahead sooner than I thought so it is still waiting for a trip to the framers. I have my art club exhibition next month so it might go into that.

Beautiful work Val. You have a nice style :)

Because I like drawing planes I am into skies, and this is tremendous I love it, its a very strong painting and full of drama. I love the density of the clouds. A wonderful piece of work...

Sorry Sarah, a bit late but thanks for the comment. Keith, thank you, you've really boosted my confidence. I enjoyed doing the sky, this was one of those rare paintings that just seemed to go right from the start so no angst over it, perhaps it shows lol!

Great pastel work, lovely water, sky and beach

Painted from a photo taken last month on the north east coast of Scotland when we had several thunderstorms. Hopefully Fiona will recognise the scene as its painted looking in the opposite direction to one of her watercolours. C & C welcome, thanks for looking.
