The Green Field

Fabulous painting, and I love the colours and the composition.

Such a subtle picture - love the tree tracery and the way the heron is camouflaged. And the long format.

Nice work, John. I was surprised it was only 10x5 inches. I particularly like the way you've done the trees (the screwdriver tip is a good one, if ever I try oils or acrylic). The heron adds tremendously to the painting.

Lovely painting John.

Thank you Dylan, Shirley, Lewis, and Heather. Your comments are very much appreciated.

Lovely painting. Great trees 👍🏻

Wonderful painting John!

John, this is my kind of place to spend some time drinking in the beauty and peace.....beautiful.

Love the beautiful subtle colours John surrounding the green field beyond. The heron is magnificent. Who new all the uses of a screwdriver! Fabulous!

Oil on Canvas Board. Size 10x5 inches 254x127mm. The winter trees branches I scratched in with a screwdriver. In winter the herons stand like statues in the green field beyond the fence. This one is making its way there. The once green reed beds become the colour of corn and become progressively whiter as the winter moves on.
