This s really different, I like your approach of scratching out to get the burst of fire works...excellent!

i think this is very effective :-) did you use the end of the paintbrush to make the bursting out firework bits?

Thanks for the comments, the burst trails and intense areas at the bottom were created by using masking fluid. The long trail done with a fine brush, the sparking area done with a stipple brush and the lower areas done with wet on wet. The various area were removed at different stages, some were overprinted, some were left till the end. Some of the smaller bursts were lifted out with blotting paper. Hope this explains.
