Pear exercise

Pear exercise

Such beautiful coloured pencil work, I can almost taste the pear. All fruits are beautifully drawn, excellent work throughout

Super study that captures the texture of the peel. If I could make a small comment, perhaps the point of contact where the bottom of the pear meets the table could be blurred a little as the sharp edge appears to jump out at the moment. A small point though, on the whole, an excellent piece.

This is amazing, so real, good enough to eat!

just love your pencilwork Peter, I get so frustrated with the coloured pencils.

Oh so good enough to eat... all of these exercises are very well done. The shadow bothers me slightly , but I am not sure why.

I am really impressed with all of these Peter. I think Sylvia means the shadow is a little 'shaped' if that makes sense ....

A really well observed drawing, and I agree that it does look good enough to eat. I think the shadow detracts a little from the wonderful pear though.

Yet another good study. Sylvia, could it be the colour of the shadow?..hmmm I know what you mean... maybe a little long at the back? Still an excellent piece of observation and skilled interpretation, especially the truth in the colours.

Four super studies. They are simple subjects but made very interesting by your skill in drawing them and your use of colour and well placed shadows.

This is a lovely study of a pear and really good. As the others have already said it's the shadow which needs a bit of blending together. Otherwise it's splendid!

This is superb but my only crit would be the shadow.

This is fabulous!

Thanks every one for your comments, it seems that my shadows have been my downfall on these exercises. If I'm honest with myself, I totally agree. All my effort went into the study of the fruit. This and all the other studies have certainly been worthwhile exercises and lessons learnt - Pay attention to all detail. Thanks again for all your kind comments and positive critic.

Missed this - great study.
