as good as a photograph, the painting is crisp and clear.

A wonderful collection of watercolours Peter. I envy your talent with greens, in fact I envy your talent with watercolour.Lol! Look forward to seeing more of your paintings.

I like your interpretation of this scene and particularly the way you have faded the painting out at the edges to stop it being too literal. A nice looseness of painting around the digger which makes the viewer focus on the machine.

Lovely watercolours Peter, I like this one, and love the misty background

Love all the pictures in your portfolio, but this is my favourite. Beautiful work.

Beautiful painting Peter

Thanks for your loverly comments, having just retired I am starting to get back into my art work, but having trouble trying to get a bit looser and still keep my detail when required. The looseness of trees and misty background techniques are wet on wet painted over the detailed drawn excavator which had been masked out, this allows sky's and back grind detail to flow uninterrupted. I was initially inspired by the whethered texture artist Richard Bolton. His books are well worth the read. But I know need to broadened my knowledge and view other people's work, hence the reason for joining this gallery.

Welcome Peter - this a great painting and puts me in mind of the late David Westons work

Excellent. This is my favourite. Oh to find a subject like this:) I am also a newcomer, so welcome!

Very skilful, and a really interesting subject. Your excavator had an air of sadness about it, and I felt that like all good paintings, it told a story.

Found this old excavator at the road side. Added my own landscape. Used masking fluid to the excavator when painting the sky, bushes and back ground. Langton 140 lb - 30 x 40 cm
