For this 30 cm diameter round acrylic painting, I limited the palette to two shades of each primary colour (a warm and cool version of each), along with titanium white and gold paint. I enjoy placing contrasting colours side by side and making them highly saturated to create a vivid visual impact. The composition is based on a photo I took. I think the simple pose is needed for this busy piece. The symbolism in the gold decorative mandala background is to reflect the nature of the zebra.
