Gorgeous unusual view of swimming penguins with lovely realistic colour and look to the underwater scene

love the colour of this painting .What did you use ? pthalo turqoise?

A lovely series of animals. This one is my favourite, then giraffe. The colours on The Penguins is lovely.

So clever

Lovely contrast between the dark penguin in the foreground and the lighter bird behind with the flickers of light across its body. I love the colour used in the sea too. A very interesting painting well executed. Great stuff Claire

Thank you for your lovely comments. Angela - Im sorry I dont actually remember what colours for sure I used for the sea but it wasn't pthalo turquoise as I dont own it. I think at a guess it was veridian, lemon yellow and cerulean (with liquin). Totally agree that it does look like pthalo turquoise and thinking now that I will add it to my palette if I do another underwater seen. I did a tonal underpaiting of just the penguins in acrylic first and then painted oil glaze layers over the whole board for the sea, Then painted more layers for the penguins over the top.
