For this 30 cm diameter round acrylic painting, I limited my palette to two of each primary colour (a warm and cool of each), along with titanium white and gold. I enjoy placing contrasting colours side by side and making them highly saturated to create a vivid visual impact. The composition is based on a photo I took, capturing the graceful twist in the neck and the side profile of the face. The decorative mandala, featuring heart motifs, symbolises the gentle and loving nature of the giraffe.
