I have a break from painting and see whats new - Wish I had been a draughtsman in a former life. One can get the straight bits and angles right. Right about the eyes Trevor lovely. I am always mixing my colours even on the canvas as I go (sometimes get mud) but just wipe it of and start again. Great Muscle tone.

Kep doing bits of painting in between the "day job stuff" - have to work for a living unfortunately - do the internet thing & check out this site when I can - always good to read your comments Jeannette - I'm sure anybody else reading them will think I'm bribing you - very much appreciated - I don't feel experienced enough to make comments on other people's work other than to say hoe impressed I am - (thinking of certain Spanish ladpics)

Sorry Jeannette - that should have read "Spanish Lady" pics

amazing

Alkyd oil on canvas board - 20in x 16in - the eyes are the most appealing feature of this study - I think you if get that somewhere near the rest falls into place - the coarse hair in the mane was almost accidental but worked. I found that as a former draughtsman the details in the leather bridle was pretty straight forward and effective. I find that getting highlights on the fur/hair can be difficult - I'm not good enough yet with colour mixing to use the right colours there - adding white doesn't always have the right effect - still - must keep going.
