Beautifully executed painting ! You are right Trevor, it is not easy to produce the details of the feather in Oil. It needs concentration and perseverance !

An attempt at a bird in oils - first time I've tried to paint feathers in this medium - not easy but I think it's worked. This is painted in Alkyd oils on Daler board 20" x 16" - the frame is natural wood - lime waxed then polished (made that myself from plain timber machined down in to the required profile - I enjoy that bit almost as much as the painting)
