Spotted Flycatcher
Now this one was a little on the tricky side especially for a commission piece. Even though it may be another 'brown bird' it has a good variety of reds, ochres, yellows and browns and with the additional mix of blue for some of the darks, so a good assortment of colours. I decided to give this one a good bright and colourful smooth blended background, this helps to brighten the 'brown' bird up a little. I spent a couple of hours taking the photo for this one with a remote switch on my camera/tripod, on a nice sunny day on the edge of Exmoor. :-) Watercolour on SAA 300gsm paper and A4 in size. :-) http://www.devonartist.co.uk/
