Nice painting Paul, I think the fence in the foreground sets this painting off so well .

Lovely, Paul. There's something whimsical about this - it's probably the fence and the gently sweeping landscape which makes the whole painting so charming.

This was a real eye-catcher to me, Paul, a very, very attractive watercolour. Beautiful scenery, a lot of depth, lovely and sunny colours. I agree with Jane: charming!

A delightful scene and a lovely watercolour Paul.

Super watercolour - gently reflecting a typically English scene. Nice light touch and great perspective drawing.

I agree with all the above, a lovely watercolour

Beautiful watercolour Paul, nice countryside

Great work Paul.

Thank you Ladies. This started as an attempt to achieve aerial perspective and I'm happy with result. The background hills do slope exactly as I've painted them. There is a farm in the real landscape, but it is way in the distance. So I put a farm in the middle of the picture to make a feature of it. The foreground is made up and changed numerous times before I settled on what you see. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Lovely depth to this Paul, a great little scene.

This is beautifully done, Paul. My first thought when I saw this was that it has such great aerial perspective, and reading that this was your attempt to achieve that, I'd say you've succeeded in spades! It's a delightful scene, with great composition and light.

Very charming :)

Thanks again for the comments. They're much appreciated

I dont do anywhere enough of it, but when I do I really enjoy walking in the countryside. Some of the woodland I wandered around as a kid has gone completely and some now has visitor centres, refreshment kiosks and tarmaced pathways. Its not the same. But, thankfully, there is still plenty of countryside left to be enjoyed. I tried hard not to, but I had to put in some sheep, people and vehicles, even if they are just blobs.
