Love it Paulette, very good detail and a good experiment with the charcoal

Betty looks wonderful Paulette. Nice effect with the charcoal.

Excellent work you really know how to handle charcoal.

I'm not one for 'cute' things, but this is so much better than just 'cute'. Coincidentally, I was thinking of whether I should try the wetting of charcoal. I might just do that.

This is really beautiful Paulette and I just love her face !!

Thanks for the great feedback. It's so useful when i'm trying out something new.

It's turned out great. I might try that technique myself. You've really captured Betty's character.

This is Betty, she's a sheep I photographed at one of my local walks. She was very fascinated by my dog Charlie, so fascinated that she brought along a little snack to munch on whilst watching him. She is drawn in charcoal on Arches watercolour paper 16 x 12" with pastel grass. I added water to the charcoal powder left over from sharpening to create a paint. It's the first time I've painted with charcoal, I've been itching to have a go. I found it brilliant, it looks like ink yet you can manipulate it once it has dried, lift it off etc.
