Guardian Angel
This is a commission, I was approached to copy a tattoo that was on someone's arm. The photo showed the tattoo of one wing on an upper arm, the second wing was around the back of the arm so I couldn't see it. Tragically the young man had died (age 27, funeral last week) and she wanted the tattoo drawn out to give as a lasting memory to the chap's mother (her auntie). Originally I was going to draw it in coloured pencils but I sketched it out roughly in charcoal first by inverting the photo and getting the second wing. She loved the charcoal so much we went with that so I completed a finished drawing on watercolour paper. The hedgehog is a personal thing she asked me to add.
