Pastel pencils on Strathmore toned paper. Sometimes things just happen in art. I have always avoided painting birds, I love them but I have some good friends who paint birds and it was an area that I have tried to avoid as I have enough variety to paint and draw as it is. First it was a pigeon feather and then two magpie feathers and then I joined a facebook group for birds and bird art, saw this photo and fell in love. The photographer who took the picture has since recommended a camera and now I'm hooked. For the past week I have been taking photo after photo of birds. Sometimes you just have to go with it :)
