Loch Lomond from Inversnaid
This is a small oil painting done this week on Arches Oil Paper. It's a view across Loch Lomond from the Inversnaid Hotel. I've found that Oil paper is ideal for holiday sketches and it tends to dry more quickly. The composition is not quite right - the tree is a bit too central, but I might change it a bit and scale it up on canvas This was sketched and painted on Wednesday afternoon with this lovely view in front of me - took about 2 hours. Just needs a yellow/orange glaze as the leaves on the trees were just starting to turn gold for Autumn.
