Lovely painting Pat! I think that your figures are very good with lot of movement , especially the dogs, and wouldn't touch them any more. The sand and water are excellent too. I paint quite a lot on MDF board and find it very responding to what I'm after.

I like the way that the horizontal pattern of waves coming in continues up into the cloud formation, as does the colour. Seascapes often seem to be a picture of two half's but this isn't . :)

Wonderful sky and very nice altogether pat!

Many thanks Satu, Gillian and Sarah for your encouraging comments. Much appreciated

Brilliant waves, lovely sky and figures, one of my favourites in your gallery. I also paint on MDF board with a couple of coats of gesso to give a tooth.

This lovely work Pat, marvellous sky, great sea, nothing wrong with the people!

Thanks everyone - I shall leave it as it is and avoid my usual fiddling with detail at the end!

Great colours in this. It's a lovely painting.

Oil on Board 24 x 30". After using canvas a lot, I found it quite difficult at first to paint on board, though this has turned out not too bad. I'm not the world's best at painting people and animals, so the sand and the figures/dogs have been changing quite a lot. I'll leave it now and look again at it in a week - I think it's nearly there. The painting is based loosely on Yorkshire's ever changing east coast where we walked our dog many times.
