A smashing piece of work Pat, you've got the balance of the subject just about right, good interpretation.

Great work Pat a view I know well in reverse

Everything except that black shadow. I know it's not black and has some colours but on screen it's thrown to black. Smashing subject choice - bridge and foreground.

A nice take on what could be a difficult subject to do. A tutor once told me "Paint what you like but don't attempt bridges". You've handled this one superbly.

Great subject wonderfully painted Pat.

Good well balanced composition and use of colour - a good 'un Pat

Lovely composition and great work Pat

I have been here and you have certainly captured the essence of the scene Pat

I like this, the lines of the bridge against the rounded boat. Lovely water effects. Also like the colours used Pat.

The light on the boat is great. Very good all round.

This is a great painting. Good decision to have the bridge rising up and off the frame. I like the tonal composition

Great Art Pat!

The is the view from Barton on Humber with a little boat yard across to Hessle Foreshore in East Yorkshire. It's and acrlyic painting on a large canvas painted mostly with knives. I originally decided to paint the Humber Bridge in full but as it's a bit flat on both sides, it seemed a bit dull, so the focus switched on the old rusting boat but still has the essence of the bridge. Although I love painting with oils - especially the creamy nature of oil paints plus the scumbling, glazing etc, I find I paint much faster with acrylics and get more immediate effects.
