Oil on Board 30x40cm. This oil is based on a watercolour sketch on one of the many beautiful deserted beaches along the South African coastline. However, in this larger oil version, I made the sky less blue and the shadows less intense - so the scene could be anywhere in the world including my local Yorkshire coast. I used a palette knife on parts of the rocks and beach, and large brush for the sea and sky.
