How come I get slated for painting skinny birds and you don't?

Like the loose feel of this Pats I can also see that he is "yours" nice relaxed feel to it. His beak is like our lovely sparrow.

Nice painting Patsy. The bird looks right to me, don't worry about the colours and I like the angle from which you've painted the bird. As Sylvia has already said looks a bit like a Sparrow.

Actually, I think it a great idea to make up your own species, they could have their own characteristics and food preferences. I was thinking of perhaps a Gin and Tonic bird or the chocolate biscuit bird, I think those are maybe my food preferences when I come to think of it. Its gorgeous, love the colours, and I think its great to do something like this on spur of the moment:-). I also think its wonderful that you are posting your work, hope we see some more soon they are great paintings :-) x

Hi Patsy Meltemi never lets a little thing like colour get in the way...It is a beautiful impression of a cochineal ouzelum bird...I like it.

Excellent, never mind if the colours appear in nature (and don't our own eyes fool us with what is out there anyway?), its a very expressive little bird!
