Hi Patricia. What stunning use of colour I'm captivated by it...How big? What medium? Oh and Where? please keep on posting here too...

Thanks, Phil, so much for your comments. The painting is an acrylic and is 16 x 20 inches. It was done as a demo for a local group of painters and I had lots of fun doing it. After the demo, when I got it home I was horrified at what I had done but after I settled down and worked at it for a while I began to get into the groove and this is the result. I have to admit that I am pleased with it as it is rather different from my usual tight style, so I have had it scanned for giclees. The scene is just outside the small village of De Roche in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia. Although I have taken a few liberties with the composition, the distant mountain is (I think) Mt. Cheam, which is characterized by an extremely sharp and steep cliff.

In the early Fall, after all the berries have been picked, the blueberry bushes turn a glowing crimson, giving a last, brilliant splash of colour to the Fall and Winter landscape.
