Thank you very much! This was painted after a very stormy day being nearly swept off the beach on the Aberdeenshire coast , paints, easel and all, by the incoming tide. Even my efforts at painting that day were washed off my canvas by an endless sequence of showers! I was on the verge of giving up and going home when I spotted these black headed gulls searching the tideline. They were there for only about five minutes , but I managed to snatch some photographs before they moved on, and I can still feel the energy of being assailed by the sun and wind Those hurried snaps have been the source of much work, and will continue to be, so watch this space!

A great example of less is more, like it!

Thank you Heather - hadn't thought of that aspect before - this was a super-fast painting carried out to fill a particular spot for an exhibition!
