Misty Woodland
David Collins sent in his misty woodland painting saying: 'I did not achieve the misty effect, in fact the shadows give the impression of too much direct sunlight but I enjoyed the article and the challenge of producing a finished watercolour painting. Over the last few years I have used acrylics and ignored watercolour, however in the last few weeks I have tried a couple of pen and wash sketches so this article has encouraged me to carry on with a return to watercolour. I did not have all of the colours listed but used the tube colours that I had left which were cobalt blue, yellow ochre, sap green, burnt sienna and winsor yellow. I used the mop brushes suggested plus a rigger. The paper was a piece of 16 by 12 Cotman 200lb cold pressed/not. This weight of paper avoided the need for pre-stretching before I could make a start'
