Hey Sandra, congratulations for being brave enough to put a landscape in and it's interesting that you should mention purples as they would work fantastically with your yellows. Having said that, your sunflowers almost jump of the page with the intensity in comparison to the muted landscape. Great work Glyn

Sandra Price Rex sent in her sunflower painting saying: 'I spent just over 45 mins on this one. It was all going well for a 30 minute painting, but I felt I had to spend extra time on highlighting the centres and petals of the large flowers in the foreground, plus darkening areas at the base of the painting, all of which helped to create distance. With hindsight, I wish I had used more purple shades in the distant hills, which would have complimented the yellow more. Looking forward to the landscape challenge next month!'
